The 3 Ingredients That'll Secure Your Child's Future.

In my early 20s, I was a Sergeant (middle management) in the Marine Corps.

One afternoon, I walked into our maintenance shop to start my shift. I found the whole team gathered around the large workbench in the middle of the room.

My Staff Sergeant, one other Sergeant, a Corporal, and the five junior enlisted guys were arguing. I immediately sensed my Staff Sergeant was at his wits' end because his face was red, and it had anger written all over it.

The moment I reached the table, he threw his hands up in the air and said, “He’s all yours Froehlich!” and marched out of the room.

I was like, “Who’s mine, and what the heck did I just walk into?”

The other Sergeant and Corporal filled me in on the details.

One of the junior enlisted ranks was acting like a royal pain in the rump.

He wasn’t doing his job.

He wasn’t listening to leadership’s direction.

He didn’t care what the other NCOs (leaders) had to say.

And, he was on the verge of disciplinary actions being taken against him.

I was just a newly minted E5.

Fresh off the boat.

So, I took him into a private room and spent 20 minutes with him before we walked out.

That's the moment I realized the power of communication

Everyone turned and stared.

The junior enlisted walked straight out of the room and right to work, doing what he was supposed to be doing.

He never talked back again.

He always completed his work.

He stopped complaining about having to do extra assignments.

And, he was on track to get promoted.

The Staff Sergeant couldn’t believe I never put a hand on him.

All the other NCOs were absolutely bewildered why he listened to me and not them.

That was such an incredible moment in my career, really impactful and empowering to my future as I came to work every day realizing that I, where I had imposter syndrome anyway, could handle a leadership role like this. I had been misjudged by all my peers and senior leadership.

Communication and leadership became one of my absolute superpowers.

Because guess who everyone came to get leadership from after that day forward?

Communicating with confidence and having leadership skills that don’t require force, yelling, or threats is a master strategy.

With this:

Your future is secure.
You can move freely into any industry, position, or title.
You are head and shoulders above everyone else.
You stand out as the “go-to” person.
You make more money.
You become the best and brightest.

I shared this story because communication, confidence, and leadership changed my life. If any of this is what you’d like your child to get a head start on, then now is the time to have them try my Building Powerful Kids program and see for yourself how I develop and cultivate these skills in their life.
