Here's how to easily get started at Level 8.

Pick your path

Firstselect the program you are interested in from the options below. Second, complete our simple (3-min) application - let us know who we’re coaching, share your goals with us, then submit the application. Third, select a time slot on our calendar to schedule an information call. They'll make sure you are matched to the right program.

Important: If you are applying for more than one person, please fill out an application for each of them.

Or learn if we are right for you

Maybe you're not ready to fill out the application and talk to a coach, but you want to find out if we are a good fit for you (or your family). If that's you, answer a few questions, and at the end, we will let you know if we might be able to help you -- no email or contact information required to get the answer.

Or, you can always call us:

Does Your Program Work?

If you are a mom or dad reading this, you have probably been trying to find something that will help your child. That might be to improve their confidence, get them to focus or listen better, or be self-driven and disciplined enough to finish things on their own without nagging, fighting, or yelling.

"The thing I like most about Lucas being here is that he knows he is part of something. I love how Master Jason teaches all sides of martial arts. They learn structure, respect, discipline, focus, and how to use their inner strength to conquer different areas of their life. We have seen an increase in his determination. He has goals, and he pushes himself inside and outside of class. The greatest part is that he has gained confidence."

Ashley P. - parent on her goal to help her son gain confidence.

Or, maybe you are hoping they will gain character skills and learn life lesson while they learn how to defend themselves.

"Our meeting with Master Jason made me realize that he is unlike other instructors, and this is not just like any other school. What I found really appealing about his program is the way he incorporates the mental strength and life skills along with the physical, self-defense aspects of martial arts. I love how he combines the two and doesn't just teach one over the other. My kids are earning something here rather than just being given it."

Deanna T. - parent looking for character development & self-defense.

Parent Story

Now, if this is for yourself, there are a lot of things you might be wondering if our program can deliver on it's promise. For my adult program, we are using Kickboxing, Boxing, and Muay Thai as the base, BUT you will be learning self-defense while getting a killer workout. So, can it work on the street? I wish none of my students found themselves in a conflict, but the five (that told me) ended it swiftly without getting hurt.

I also work on helping improve other areas of life with confidence, focus, discipline, and all the other great aspects of martial arts. This isn't just fighting; it's a warrior's journey where you get to explore your ability to grow and expand.

"Being in the military for a great deal of time and being in the front lines of the Iraq War, I knew what the Special Forces High Operates were learning to eliminate a threat in seconds, and I wanted to learn the exact things they knew to protect myself and my family.

I didn’t want some watered-down martial arts program that was filled with forms or "rules" for competition. I wanted to learn the best "real fighting, no rules" driven self-defense that the special forces military guys were getting taught. Well, I found it in Master Jason’s program. With him being a Marine Corps Sergeant veteran, I knew he had to know something, and after our first lesson, I found what I was looking for and was getting the real self-defense that works in a street situation.

I have found myself in a few situations before learning what I know now, and I wish I had it back then."

Michael M. - adult student on searching for self-defense that works.

Student Story

"When I first started, I wanted to learn the actual skills of fighting and self- defense. I wanted to learn things that were more useful and practical. The classes I took before coming here weren’t very clear. They didn’t explain why or how to do certain things like head movement, striking, the foundation of fighting, technical work, or all other things involved in a live fight. It just seemed like it was supposed to be understood already before you came to class; they just said "do this or do that” and left it for us to figure out. It felt like a cardio class where they tell you what to do, but they didn’t know what they were doing either. So, I wanted a more thorough knowledge of what, how, when, and why to do something. When I first read Master Jason’s website, it seemed like I was going to learn actual strategy, tactics, and the true fundamentals of self-defense; therefore, I felt this was the best place that I could get it. I also wanted to get back into it because I liked that single focus of martial arts training and how it gave me a way to help me deal with where to put my energy and have a goal for personal growth. Therefore, I wanted to learn how to use my whole body as a weapon rather than just my hands in boxing. So, I chose Muay Thai Kickboxing because of how it helps you learn how to use your whole body as one unit in a fight. I wanted the true coordination of kicking, punching, elbowing, and the use of my knees to fight with.

What I like best about training in Master Jason’s program is the variability and the ability to work with different people. I am not singled out here at all because I am a girl. I feel like I am treated equally here in a friendly environment because Master Jason stresses in each class that you can learn something from everyone you partner with and practice with. When I did Boxing, it wasn’t like this. I was singled out because I was a girl, and they put me with the younger kids or other girls. Master Jason trains us like a warrior and treats us respectfully, no matter our gender or age. Another factor of sessions that I really like is that everything is interconnected in training. We work on things in certain sections, but it is always gone over in different ways to keep us interested, learning, and focused on improvement. The variety helps us understand self-defense from many points of view, rather than just one way of limited thinking and movement. I like that we get to work the pads and work our power striking and defensive maneuvering; however, pad work is done in a way that replicates fighting, much like the pros do. I also like that we get to work partner-to-partner drills that then bring self-defense training to a more practical and realistic understanding for defending myself."

Student Story

There may be a thousand other reasons why you might be hesitating. But the bottom line is the longer you wait, the more you lose out on an experience of a lifetime.

So, how do you break free from self-doubt? You have to be willing to step outside your comfort zone long enough to feel comfortable in a new zone. Here's the magic.

We got you covered

You don't have to worry if you've never done this before. We start you out at the level you are at. If you are more skilled, you move up to that level quickly.

We don't hold you back. We help you progress and move forward and upward in every class.

We make sure you feel welcomed

Everyone gets a chance to train, work, and be a warrior.

No one student slows class down. If you are feeling like you are too out-of-shape or not flexible enough, you don't have to worry.

We help each student improve and learn as much as possible in each class.

Bring out your best

We help you learn how to move, how to defend, and how to fight back.

We help you build your confidence in your skills within each class. Our objective is to give you skills on day one that will work for you as quickly as possible.

We make it step-by-step

As you can read from Kelly's testimonial, each class builds upon the next.

It is like building your own personal self-defense house. You will get a solid foundation, put up a framework that can withstand the weather, and get a roof that brings it all together.

What We do

We help kids, teens, and adults build self-defense skills while getting our world-class training on confidence building, communication, character, and leadership. We do all this is our amazing facility that serves the West Jordan, South Jordan, Taylorsville, and Midvale area.

Constant Improvement

We are constantly improving our skill development. Constant repetition is the secret sauce to success, but having variation to that will help you learn how to solve the self-defense problem on your own. It will give you (or your child) the chance to grow, to improve, and to build a unique set of skills very few people cultivate. It helps you stand out, have an advantage, and get an edge.

Functional Fight Movement

I talk a lot about character and confidence building, but make no mistake, I teach functional fight movement. If you (or your child) lands in a self-defense situation, you WILL have to fight.

You either fight back, or lay down.

I'm assuming laying down isn't what you want. If you do, I'm the wrong school for what you are looking for or imagine a fight to be. There is nothing natural about a fight, so I will teach you how to respond accordingly without wasted movement or compromising yourself to further danger.

High Impact

Whether you take the lessons that are more driven for character, leadership, or communication ... or you take the fight skills you develop, they are going to make a high impact on your life (or your family's life).

Everything here is done with purpose, we strive to be the best for you, and we do our best to remain on the edge of innovation so you can keep growing and learning.

how We do It

Group Sessions

The foundation of learning happens in our group coaching sessions. You (or your child) will be coached through a full martial arts session designed to build body, mind, skill, and character.

We start with warm-ups and stretching to prepare the body, followed by skill-building drills that develop focus, confidence, and self-discipline. Each class wraps with a challenge to reinforce what you’ve learned in a fun, energetic way. Our instructors guide every student to train with proper technique, mindset, and effort—adjusting for their age and ability—so they grow at their own pace without getting left behind.

Small Group Sessions

These focused, high-impact training cycles are built for 1 coach to 4 students ready to take on a new challenge and level up fast. It is created to give you more personal attention while designed to accelerate skill development, boost confidence, and deliver measurable results—without the pressure of big groups. Whether it’s mastering advanced techniques, breaking through mental blocks, or building unstoppable discipline, students grow faster in a tight-knit, coach-led environment where they get more reps, more feedback, and more momentum.

New themes rotate every 6 weeks, so there’s always a new opportunity to grow and step up.

Assessment Cycles

Our Assessments happen just twice a year and are designed to be earned, not rushed. This isn’t about collecting belts—it’s about proving progress. Students prepare over time, and when Assessment Week arrives, they demonstrate what they've built: stronger skills, sharper focus, and greater self-discipline. It’s a chance to earn their next level with pride, knowing they’ve worked for it—and learned from it.

Specialized Training Sprints

Throughout the year, we host specialized training sprints that go beyond regular training. These are designed to push students outside their comfort zone in a fun, structured way—whether it’s a focus challenge, leadership development, communication training, parent-kid workshop, or physical skill gauntlet. Every sprint is an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned, build confidence in real time, and grow alongside your teammates. It’s about progress, not perfection—and these cycles of training make the journey unforgettable.

Fundamentals First

At Level 8, we don’t rush past the basics. Whether it’s self-defense, leadership, or life skills, everything starts with rock-solid fundamentals. From how to move and react under pressure, to how to speak up with confidence and stay focused in tough moments—these essential skills are introduced early and reinforced often. Mastering the fundamentals builds habits that are carried into every area of life, and it’s the reason our students grow into focused, respectful, and resilient leaders.

FAQs

If there are other questions that aren't answered, please contact us.

Do students wear uniforms?

For our youth classes (6-11) they wear a simple Level 8 uniform of shorts and a t-shirt. Our teen and adult classes are NOT required to wear uniforms - appropriate athletic gear.

Do students earn belts or rank?

Yes, all our classes have a ranking system to them which each student earns a level. To earn a "black belt" level, each student will have to meet the testing requirements.

Are sessions female-friendly?

Yes, all programs are gender friendly. Every student is treated fairly and respected. Each student is given the opportunity to learn at their own level and move at their own pace. And every student gets to learn how to be a warrior.

How safe is it to train?

We make safety a priority here at Level 8. We want students to learn and feel comfortable training in martial arts. We understand how intimidating it is to do this activity, so we take everyone through a process to develop their skills while remaining safe. There is no tough-guy attitudes allowed in the training zone. No one is the king of the gym, and no one is allowed full-contact sparring. If students want to fight, that is left for the ring.

How long does it take to get a black belt?

It all depends on the student and their dedication. However, it generally takes 3-4 years to get to this level.

If I enroll, do I have to sign up for a long-term contract?

No. We do not require you to sign up for a long-term contract.

What ages do you teach?

We have age-appropriate classes that are separate for 6-8 years old, 9-11 years old, 12-17 years old (teens), and then 18+ (adult classes).
